Hello, I am completely new to obs, I have done some looking around before resorting to making a new thread but my apologies if there is something I have missed.
My computer is a few years old but still decent I should think. overclocked ryzen 7 1700x, 1080ti, 32gb ram, m.2 drive and am on windows 10 pro x64, but when I try to record with obs I get constant stuttering and constant messages about "encoding overloaded. Consider turning down video settings or using a faster encoding preset"
I am trying to use nvenc but even when turning everything down the error is still there more often than not. I changed it to record at 720p instead of 1440p, set it to 24fps instead of 60 and also tried using the various "fast" pre-sets but still no go.
Also this applies to all recording, doesnt matter if its a game capture, display capture or window, any recording of any kind with basically any settings combination you can think of say overloaded no exaggeration every 2-3 seconds, despite the task manager showing no part of my computer being tasked more than 35%. Speaking of task manager one thing I have noticed is that OBS does not appear in windows 10 task manager? I thought setting a higher priority there might be something worth trying but in the 5 odd days I have had obs it has not once shown up in task manager
Can anyone more informed than myself offer any input or point me in the right direction? Thank you very much
