Connection Issues

I have just bought a new laptop with a single microphone/headphone socket, (as opposed to my old one which had separate sockets and everything worked fine) but when I plug in my 3-Pole TRRS cable that is connected to my DJ mixer, I do not get any signal coming through at all!! Do I need to buy a 3.5mm Audio Jack to Headphone and Microphone Splitter Converter Adaptor to get the Aux signal or something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated/

you only have a mic input its not stereo buy an audio interface
