Connecting two OBS computers

You should be able do this using https://vdo.ninja

Go there in a browser on computer with USB camera, use the add camera to obs option, once you start it, it will display a website address. Go to that address in a browser on other computer.

No OBS required.

I mentioned previously that i had a friend that did a 2 p setup. He used the same srt method used in the example youtube video you mentioned. It worked for him, should work for you.

I completely agree with your observations. It's clear that the inability to ping between the two computers indicates a connectivity issue, which is critical for any streaming or broadcasting setup. If the network connection isn't established, it makes sense that you'd encounter errors with OBS since it's heavily reliant on a stable network for transferring data.

The easiest way to get NDI to work:

Install NDI Tools on both PC's. If you already installed the runtime, remove it prior to installing Tools.
Get NDI working
Then fire up OBS, install plugins on both PC's
NDI should work.

That's the way I did it.

Every bit of info to get NDI working can be found here

(Updated Link) Previous was for Developers. Sorry about that.....

FYI: You can use the NDI Bridge as a proxy to re-encode the raw NDI feeds to a lower bit-rate NDI-HX streams if your LAN stumbles.

And, yes it does work on the WAN as well. Highest quality stream I've ever sent. Too bad almost everybody I know runs a Mac.

Thanks everyone. You guys are great!

The vdo.ninja method looks very promising.
I am going to focus on it and the youtube setup (srt) the next little while.

For both the srt and NDI methods I am going to have to sort out the PING problem as mentioned.

Wow this VDO.ninja is really cool!
It's working inside OBS, which is where I'd like it to work.
And it's not using any extra resources (as NDI was).

A few questions if anyone uses it.
When I fired up VDO.ninja on Computer1 the webcam image comes up flipped right-left.
Strangely when it shows on Computer2 in OBS it flips back on its own left-right.
Are the flips normal?

I wanted to try to view the cam in a web browser, but both Firefox and MS Edge just show a black page.
But for now that's OK.

I'm really excited to see how VDO.ninja will perform streaming Video + Audio (live music performance).
Later on ...

I was able to reproduce the flip. You can flip it back in OBS by right clicking on the source in the doc or in the scene > Transform > Flip Horizontal. Works for me in Edge.
