Question / Help Computer lags while streaming

Hi, I'm having trouble streaming. My steam has noticable lag in the video, but the audio is fine. Also, my computer lags while I stream. This wasn't an issue until recently...

Intel core 2 quad cpu q9300 2.50 ghz 2.50 ghz
4 gb ram
64bit OS
Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 SE

You are using monitor capture with Aero enabled in Windows 7, that's the main cause of your laggy video issues. If you absolutely must use monitor capture, disable Aero.

I tried changing that earlier, will I have to reboot for aero to be disabled?

No, all you have to do is either tick the "Disable Aero on startup" option in OBS and restart the application, or manually switch to a non-Aero theme, such as Windows Basic or Classic.
