Computer freezing - after enabling dynamic bitrate

I've been using OBS for about a month and it never crashed. My connection has been really shoddy lately and I discovered the dynamic bitrate option, which says it's still in beta, and decided to try it out tonight. Twice my computer totally froze and needed a hard reset.

Anybody? How can I escalate this fatal error? I confirmed last night that the entire computer freezes within less than an hour if dynamic bitrate is turned on, and once I turned it off I was able to stream for 4 hours straight. My computer has crashed 4 times now with dynamic bitrate turned on.

Does this happen when Windscribe VPN is off? (This should be turned off before opening OBS).

confirmed it freezes even with windscribe off. it froze at 1hr 5min this time
