Question / Help Compatibility with XBMC

Hey guys!

I have a slightly different use of OBS and I thought I should ask here.

I'm thinking of using it as a poor man's slingbox =) I have a capture card that works great with OBS (AverMedia Broadcaster HD) and am able to get my directv output into it just dandy. I'd like to stream this video out so i can use it to watch TV while in a different room (on my ipad, you guys know which room i'm talking about lol) and possibly my laptop.

I have XBMC configured on both my laptop and ipad, and it supports network streams

I just don't have a single clue on how to get OBS to work with xbmc. I tried to stream it out via VLC's rtsp streamer, but it's dog slow (4+ seconds lag, and the video quality doesn't look that great) I'm hoping to get like <1 second (if i bump the bandwidth to be like 20000 and quality @ 10), and my machine is plenty fast (i7 3770k) that is doing the encoding.

I was hoping someone knows how to achieve this with OBS?

Thanks in advanced guys!

The only way I can think of to do this would be to set up an RTMP server with crtmpserver (rtmpd) and set that as your custom server in OBS. Then set up crtmpserver to serve via RTSP, and set XBMC to point tot hat RTSP stream.

I don't know exactly how to set this up myself (though I have gotten RTMP working on crtmpserver before), and I don't know what kind of latency would be involved...I imagine it would be around 1 second.
