Question / Help Compatibility with webcam

Hey all! Quick question - for various reasons (not streaming wise) I am hoping to capture video taken from a webcam (not a proper camera) and save it directly to my HD.

Is OBS suitable for this purpose, and if so, is it compatible with general web-cams?

Yes, OBS is generally intended for use with webcams. It isn't particularly well suited for use with "proper cameras" (like DSLRs or the like).
