Colors, mainly blacks, washed out after update

Bit of a strange question for you all - but I'm stumped and wondering if anyone can help.

On the release of the October 4th, OBS Studio 27.1.3 - certain colors, mainly black, became less prominent and more washed out in the recordings of my game. They went from this:

To this:

I went through the October 4th, 27.1.3 release and was unable to find why the colors all of a sudden changed. It is not computer related, this only happens through OBS after version 27.1.3. All of my friends have had the same thing happen to them. Thanks in advance for any help!

Full range is actually more likely to CAUSE this problem than solve it.

What media player are you checking your recordings with?

VLC Media Player. However the screenshots for this are taken straight from the OBS Preview Window. They look the same in the recordings however.

Are you running any sort of color correction filters outside of obs?
No color correction filters . Looking back through the updates, I'm wondering if the way it looked previously was bugged and was changed with this fix - https://i.imgur.com/FciSfu1.png .

Shame as I much prefered how it looked the previous way!

I believe it may have to do with the scale filtering as well. Not sure what was changed, but something did!

Go into your Nvidia options and make sure it's set to full color range. Sometimes when using HDMI it defaults to limited range

Hey Gecko, thanks for the response. Have always used full color depth so unfortunately not related to that. The problem is specifically OBS related. The issue only occurs when I update my version of OBS as I mentioned above. Thanks
