Question / Help Colors are Darker in Recording

Hi

The recording has slightly different colors and mainly darker reds than displayed on the monitor. Is this caused by quality settings or something else?

Use Custom Buffer Size: Enabled
Buffer Size: 0

x264 CPU Preset: Very Fast
Encoding Profile: High
Custom x264 Settings: crf=5

Here are two screenshots for you to compare, look how off the red color is:
From the Video recorded by OBS: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16640285/video.png
A Screenshot direct from the monitor: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16640285/screenshot.png

In my NVIDIA Control Panel, Video Color Dynamic Range is set to Full (0-255) and I have this color problem in all players I have tried: VLC, MPC and WMP

For your information the "Preview Stream" option shows the colors correctly, they are only different when playing back the video. Why is this?

This is due to YUV subsampling. It's a very minor compression used that can significantly reduce the size of the image, and it's the image format used for h264 and such, so not really anything anyone can do about it currently (though in future versions other codecs will be available for local recordings)
