Question / Help Color problems in video editor

Hello. I recorded a test video with OBS with the AMF Encoder, using UV12 color format, 709 full range, and it looks like I want, however, opening the video in a video editor (I use AviUtl), the colors become very dark, and I simply do not want it looking like that.
Now, I can encode with x264 and set the color to be converted to 'PC tone', but that's not a real fix. I remember testing Sony Vegas years ago, and it had a similar problem, but there, you could go into preferences and check a box somewhere that used the video's original colors, but I can't find anything like that here.
What should I do?

Here's the original, correct colors.

Thanks. That's really interesting, and unfortunate.
As an aside, I tried opening the same video with VirtualDub FilterMod, and it displayed mostly correctly, although some colors still looked a bit darker.

Is there any way around this other than using partial range?
