Bug Report Civilization 5 crashes

Hi, I couldn't find a thread about this so here goes!

I had the OBS open in the background, not streaming or recording, just from my previous Blood Bowl streaming. Civ 5 had all kinds of weird texture issues and instant crash on alt+tab or a bit later in the game.

Without OBS it works just smoothly. I can reproduce this instantly every time I try to play Civ 5 with OBS running. Both v0.472b and v0.48.012b experimental suffer from same issue. I can reproduce this pretty much instantly by launching the game with OBS running.

Civ 5 is running on Direct X 11, ATI 7850 card and 13.1 driver. Windows 8. Not sure what else you'd like to know.

Not really a problem for me as I don't plan streaming it, but just something I stumbled upon purely unluckily.

strange, I've never had an issue with civ 5, and I know others who have used it fine as well, so I'm not entirely sure

Are you using the touch enabled version of Civ5 designed for Windows 8? I don't have issues in Windows 7 with Civ5 and OBS ..

I have the same issue with Civ5, win7 64

I can stream (in game capture) but, if I switch scene and come back to Civ5 scene, the screen is black, then I hit my hotkey for game capturing, and then the game crash (not OBS) (Runtime VC++ error, and talking about MSVCR90.dll)

Both with dx9 and dx11, windowed and full screen


If I try Full screen and software capture I have a black screen in OBS (I can only see mouse)

no problem with software and windowed

does this happen with the latest test builds? there were bugs that would cause it to not reacquire

yes with 0.48.013b.

When i am in the menu i can switch scene, but there is black screen on stream when i come back to game scene, if I hit hotkey for capture that work

but if Im in game Civ5 will crash

I didn't try to play a long game (without switching scene and alt-tab) to see if game crash alone later
