Question / Help Choppy stream? help?

Hi there

I'm after some help, i've recently purchased a new desktop/elgato hd60 capture card to stream to twitch, username is forum name if you wish to view the issue i have.

I've followed various youtube turorials to get settings that work.Ihave attempted changing bit rate, resolution, fps however i don't seem to beableto stream without it jumping every few seconds.

I believe my desktop can handle streaming however correct me if i am wrong... the specs:

AMD Quad Core FX 4300 3.8Ghz 8GB Ram + 2TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960

I have conducted aspeed test download 130mbs upload 9mbs

EDIT: issue also happens in OBSpreview stream (not sure if relevan but just a pointer)

What are you trying to stream?

What do you mean by "jumping every few Seconds" please try to describe your Issue a bit more informative.

Thanks for the reply alpin, sorry I'd I didn't provide enough information.

I'm trying to stream Destiny on xbox one. I'm just very new to this and not overly tech savy and just trying to create a smooth stream.

What I mean by jumping is the every few seconds (probably 5-10) the stream would jump forward a second or so. For example I could be flying in to a destination/in a gun fight/ generally wandering around and the stream suddenly skips forward a second or so. It would then be okay for a few seconds and then skip forward a second or so again. I'm desperately trying to get it so the stream is 'smooth'

I'm assuming i need to make amendments to OBS settings and any guidance on what to use for settings?

literally have the exact same problem!

I'm using the HD60 Pro. i5 6600k 4.2GHz, GEForce 980ti, 16GB RAM, 50Mb/s Download & 5MB/s Upload internet speed for Destiny and my stream skips just as you're describing. It skips in preview and when live. Odd thing is I can stream PC games smoothly up to about 2000kbs encoding with a downscale to 720p. For some reason, using it with the Xbox One makes it skip. I've tried lowering the bitrate and messing with multiple settings from YouTube videos on the issue and nothing has fixed it. I've been using the game capture software that game with the Elgato, but I'd much rather use OBS.

Hopefully someone has had this issue and can help us out! :)
