Question / Help Choppy Stream during heavy action

I streamed Overwatch today and experienced extremely choppy stream quality, despite the fact that OBS recorded 0 dropped frames for the entirety of the stream.

This is the third day in a row I've experienced this, and I don't know what the cause could be. I did a speed test on my connection, and both the download and upload speeds were fine.

Log is showing rendering and encoding lag.
The i5-7500 is too slow, you even had the preset on Ultrafast (low CPU load, but bad encoding quality).

What I would suggest:
- use NVENC from your GTX1060, it will look better than x264 ultrafast and keep the CPU load low
- turn off Windows 10 GameDVR and Shadowplay
- check your scenes (4x Window capture, 2x game capture, monitor capture and Game Capture HD60 S all in one scene is pretty bad)
- limit ingame fps and details, so that gaming + OBS will not produce more than 95% GPU load

So go with NVENC? I heard that NVENC causes a lot of artifacting, which is why I had avoided it.

Thanks for your advice, all around, though.

nvenc is about the same quality as x264 with veryfast preset. If your CPU isn't fast enough to do any better preset (faster, medium, etc.), you can as well use nvenc. If you have to use ultrafast with x264, nvenc gives even better quality than that.
