Question / Help Choppy and Ugly Recordings

Hello! My problem is that my OBS recordings never look good at all. I've tried bumping up the bitrate, but the videos still look pretty bad. Especially any fast movement games like Rocket League. In that game, I can visibly see pixelated boxes when I boost. I thought that increasing the bitrate would take care of that. I'm recording at 720p 60 fps. The captures end up being kind of choppy, too. I'm using an i7 4790k, so I should be able to handle that level of recording.

Here's my latest log: https://gist.github.com/06bfce8538b7db0475edac01916a5edd

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hey, thanks! That worked. Do you know what was causing it? The things I changed were turning the Custom Buffer Size to 0, setting CRF to 15, and putting the preset to ultrafast from veryfast.

The choppy was caused by veryfast preset.
The ugly was caused by not having crf-based bitrate selection active.

Okay. So I went back and did some new recordings with the settings you gave me. The FPS is a smooth 60 except for some random times. There are perceptible dips. It's not by much, but I can see that the FPS isn't smooth at times. Any solution to that?
