Question / Help Chat window doesnt update in stream

i seem to have a problem where the chat only shows what is on it at the time when i start the stream and when i am playing and people talk, the chat doesn't update on the stream footage unless i alt+tab to see it then it does update but the footage of the game being streamed freezes (but not the game itself) until i alt+tab back to the game and the chat freezes on what was last seen since i alt+tabbed. does anyone know what causes this and know how to fix it? thnx

How are you capturing the chat window and the game? Is the game running in fullscreen mode?

Window capture for the chat and game capture for the game and the game is running in fullscreen. also i am NOT using monitor capture

I think it's because you need to run the game in borderless windowed mode. When games are in fullscreen, typically nothing is is rendered behind them.

thnx i believe that might be the reason, i'll try it out as soon as i can, although i hope they will be release a patch that will allow fullscreen to be compatible with window capture and such. i love OBS that said does anyone know if they take donations at all?

There's nothing to patch, it's how Windows works. You can donate by clicking the green dollar sign icon at the top right of the web page.
