Question / Help Change codec?

Is there away to change the codec with obs? I want to use the Cantasia codec that came with my copy of Cantasia, because it has really good compression to quality, what do I put in the custom h.264 box?

Unfortunately, there is no way to do what you want. However, x264 already has amazing performance, quality and compression when properly tuned.

Will there be in the future an option to do this? Because I find that even on 8 when recording doom 3, it still sacrifices the moving scenes, motin blur in the game, fast paced action for the still scenes/slower paced, when recording I still get a healthy 61fps (monitor caps frames at 60 because its only 60hz)

There are methods of recording things properly with OBS, you do not need another codec to do this. You just need to configure OBS properly.
