change 16:9 to 4:3

Hello. Is it possible to see in 4:3? I have a VHS vidoecassette and I see a squashed image, I mean a narrow image in the horizontal way.

I've been told to write 1440x1080 in the base resolution but it doesn't change. And then when I do it, the exit resolution changes to 480x360 but so I see only a part of the image, so what is it for?

And why the blue border is larger at right than the area where I see the videos? Is that normal?

VHS has resolution 352x288 or 352x576 / 480

1440x1080 is for FullHD in TV (1080i) with PAR 1.33.

Also 352x288 let me see only a little part, and 352x576 and 352x480 make the screen smaller.

This isn't my area of expertise, but I suspect
- Your base resolution should match your content (yes, small screen)
then you need to test
- does enlarging output in OBS (upscaling) vs let video player handle upscaling look better... expect many test iterations
- and beware which re-scaling algorithm your select in OBS. The default tries to balance CPU vs quality. If you have enough CPU power, a higher quality algorithm may suit you better.

as for 352xXXX - realize the XXX depends on which format (NTSC, PAL, etc) the video is in and whether Interlaced or Progressive

Not to see sqashed I have to set 1440x1440. But if I set any ratio 4:3 the blue border, as I told before, is larger at right than the area where I see, and I don't see the right side of the video.

A what grabber you use?
Put here screen from OBS with blue border.

First, to reset any accidental scaling/fitting/stretching, right-click your capture device source->Transform->Reset transform.
Then, to adapt your canvas and output resolution to that of the capture device, right-click your capture device source->reseize output (source size).
This way your canvas and output size is the same resolution as your capture device, so your video will contain 1:1 every pixel from what the capture device will capture, unrescaled, undistorted.
