Question / Help Catalina Window Capture working now

in Catalina OBS needs screen recording permission to capture the windows. Problem is we can not add it there ourselves. There is a terminal command that opens OBS so it has the permission. Issue here is that we have to do it every time.

open /Applications/OBS.app/Contents/MacOS/OBS --args -picture

here is the fix for the above

1) add a Display Capture in Source. Catalina will ask for Screen Recording permission
2) Allow OBS Screen Recording permission

you should see the may sources in Window Capture now

Just in case it helps anyone who has the same issue I did, the bit that says "Catalina will ask for Screen Recording permission".

It _did_, but it popped up and hid a window almost instantly, so if you don't see it have a really close look at all open windows. Try pressing f2 to show them all.
