Question / Help capturing only 3/4 screen

So i set the settings up to capture my entire 1920x1080 screen. and i do preview screen, however, when i do, it shows my screen in the upper left corner, but it stops and doesn't show my start toolbar and 1/6 of my right side of the screen. how can i fix this
