Question / Help Capture Window region only?

Hello everyone, I searched to no avail and it seems like there is a great user community here which is very helpful.

I'm trying to get ONLY one window area to capture. This is a video player (PotPlayer if it matters) and the red box looks as though it's capturing only that portion of the screen, but when I play the recorded video it shows the entire area. (Black area to the right)

Hey guys,

New Windows OBS user here, used it gimp freejobalert notepad++ on mac before but never had this type of problem. Any idea of what it could be? The "recordings" folder
only has these short clips, nothing else.

Facing the same here too. Some help is appreciated.

Add a crop filter to the window capture.

That's normal because your CANVAS resolution is bigger than your Windows Capture. If you want to record with OBS with an specific resolution (width x height) you must change the "Base (Canvas) Resolution" under "Settings" -> "Vídeo".
