I have a two pc set up with an Avermedia C985 capture card. My streaming pc is detecting the desktop of my gaming pc but not detecting the game. Any ideas on how to fix this? Both computers are running Windows 10.
Try hooking up a spare computer monitor instead of the capture card and determine what resolution and framerate the game is switching to. It might be one that the Avermedia doesn't support, and you'll need to change it in the game software.

How do you have it connected? the 965, should have an hdmi in and out. in would connect from your game PC's GPU, out would go to your gaming pc's monitor.
A capture card doesn't 'detect' anything. It's like... a webcam, but taking the video signal directly. It doesn't care what's there, it's just taking the image it's sent and recording it.
Your streaming PC isn't sending the display with the game out over the cable you have plugged into your capture card, for some reason.
