Question / Help Capture card mess

Im currently trying to get a sony HDR CX-625 to be usable in OBS and Google hangouts.

However the camera does not support USB-stream (i think that's the name), So im trying to capture the HDMI output with a capture card, so il list the two use cases im trying to solve under here.

I need to use the camera for use as a camera in my PC, But apparently the camera does not natively support this.
So i want to capture the output with a capture card and then use the capture card software output in google hangouts (just like a normal webcamera.
Also i've read that some capture cards introduce delays and some don't. And sound and video getting out of sync obviously would be pretty bad.

Im not sure how camera and capture card software outputs work in a pc.

I have looked at the
AVerMedia Live Gamer HD
http://www.avermedia.com/gaming/product/game_capture/live_gamer_hd

Im having a little problems with deciphering what the card can actually do tho, on their webpage it says this.

* Live Gamer HD does not support viewing/recording/streaming of HDCP protected signals

my understanding was that pass through fix helped this. And helped performance.
Also is this card a splitter?. And what does splitters actually do?, it seems that they remove the HDCP but im not sure.

(if somebody looks at the camera it supports some sort of crazy low quality wi-fi streaming capability with -only- ustream
and apparently in some insane low quality resolution i think it was 640x360 or something like that it was idiotic to read).

[Usecase 1] (Main problem]
I want to use the camera as source in OBS and Google hangouts.

[Usecase 2] (would be nice if solution to 1 also solves this but completely optional)
I want to use the card in OBS to reduce load when gaming. So the card does the processing and provides the actual source for streaming.

This post got a little long but i really tried to keep it small.

A video camera doesn't create HDCP nor protected content, so you don't have to worry about that. That's a warning for people who want to use a video capture card to pirate tv shows and movies and such. It doesn't apply to you.

If you can take the HMDI output from your camera and it shows on a computer monitor, then you should be able to make it work on a Live Gamer HD. You won't be able to do 1080p60 as 1080p60 though, you'll have to drop it down to 1080p30 or 720p60. Other than that, it should work.

But are you sure you don't just need a simple webcam instead?

A capture card doesn't reduce the CPU load while gaming, unless you have the capture card in a separate computer from the one you're gaming on. Its actually better for the CPU to just use a software capture mode with no hardware capture card at all.

Found this on ebay just now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/302051068776 This capture card will let you capture the full 1080p60 but it doesn't do audio. If you were planning to use the camcorder's microphone, then it won't work well, but if you were routing the audio separately anyways (desktop or headset mic), then its nice. You'll need a PCIe 4x slot though and a HDMI to DVI adapter too.
