I recently ran into some issues regarding the latest version of OBS for windows.
My setup is a dual PC configuration, I am using the Elgato 4k Mk.2 capture card to retrieve info from the gaming PC. I have been using this entire setup since last year, with no hiccups. As of recent though, and the update to the latest version of OBS (25.0.4). The audio being sent from the capture card vanishes after a random amount of time.
I originally thought there was something wrong with the capture card, so I went through the process of reinstalling, reseated the card in another PCI slot. No luck. Then went as far as reinstalling windows on both computers, still the same issue. I finally today tried an older version of OBS (24.0.3), and to my surprise, the audio issue was non-existent.
I attached the log of the ver.25 one. I cannot stress this enough, the "Audio buffer" that is being sent to the MK.2 has nothing to do with the audio being taken away. On both versions (24 and 25) this is the same thing that happens. Granted, when it maxes out on 25, it kills the audio. While on 24, it stays there. In OBS the audio gain levels continue to "show" that audio is being sent to the stream/recording.
I did try to test this as best as I can to see if it's a version bug of some sort. I left the ver24 sit idly (with audio playing) for a little over 4 hours, no issues. I then tried it with ver25, and the audio dropped within 25 minutes. Here's a video for what it looks like on the recording side of things: https://streamable.com/lvetqf
I would personally continue to use 24.0.3 but, the Elgato streamdeck doesn't seem to like it very much due to the plugin not being applicable.
Please fix this!
