When using a Scene that has no Source related to the capture card, why do I always hear the audio from the capture card in my headphones?
Situation: While streaming for a church, I have a capture card that receives video from a camera and audio from the sound system. We currently lack an available musician to lead live worship, so we have music videos prepared for both the in-person and online attendees to sing along with. Due to logistics and cable lengths, the easiest way for us to use them is for the pastor to play the chosen videos on his computer connected to the sound system at roughly the same time that I play the same videos in OBS as a VLC source. The viewer experience is working okay (those in the room only hear what the pastor plays, and only the VLC source is heard by those watching the stream, so it doesn't matter that they aren't perfectly synced), but in the headphones I hear both, which makes it challenging for me to know when to transition after the VLC playback in OBS is done. There is definitely no audio source from the capture card in the scene that contains the VLC source, so why am I hearing it?
Log of last Sunday's session: https://obsproject.com/logs/8wuYYdYNVG4OBqYj Note in the loaded scenes that only the scene called "Teaching" has an audio input capture source. During "slide" scenes I don't care if I hear the sound system (in fact it can be kinda helpful because I am also in charge of the sound system, but that's optional), but during the "VLC song set" scenes it's extremely distracting.
