Hey guys,

I need some help, i want to start streaming but unfortunately my ADSL is very average at my home and won't be getting NBN for a year or 2 from now so i have gotten a vividwireless 4G connection which is getting very good speeds.

GAMING PC Specs:
Windows 10 64 Bit
ASUS B150Pro
GeForce GTX 970
i7-6700K 4GHz
8GB DDR4 RAM
Internet: iiNet ADSL2+ (3.7Mbps, 0.79up)

STREAMING PC Spec:
Windows 10 64 Bit
NVIDIA Quadro K2100M 2GB
i7-4930MX 3.9GHz
16GB DDR3 RAM
Internet: VividWireless 4G (12Mbps, 4up)

so anyway my question to you guys is do i need a capture card for my gaming pc or for my streaming pc(laptop)? and is this the easiest way to go about it? im very new and not knowledgable with these things. could someone even take the time to explain to me how it works with a 2 PC setup.. do you still use OBS?

any help is appreciated.

thnx in advance,
fish

You would need a capture card for your streaming PC, if you wanted to run a 2PC setup. You would run OBS on the casting PC and capture a cloned or split video source from the gaming PC.

That said, your gaming system should be good enough to both stream and game from, especially as non-partnered casters on Twitch are advised not to exceed 2000kbps, which fits a 720p@30fps, x264 Veryfast stream quite nicely. You'd likely be able to use a lower preset as well with that 6700k, which will improve the stream's visual quality without increasing the bitrate.

2PC setups are a major hassle on many points, not the least of which being audio setup, which is a massive pain.

FerretBomb thanks for the reply, I see that my PC is strong enough to run everything but internet is my problem not the PC

*EDIT* and i dont really want to use the wireless 4G connection for gaming as i've heard its quite unstable
