Capture 1080p region on a 4k monitor?

Hi folks,

I have a massive 4k screen.

I want to capture at 1080 for Youtube.

If i capture the whole screen, then downscale to 1080, some text and interface elements will be too small.

So what i actually want to do is exactly define a 1080 region of my screen (so, a quarter of my screen), and move the things i want to capture into that area.

I've been trying a few things but as yet, nothing is satisfactory, any pointers or tips would be much appreciated! :)

Sorry, i forgot to mention:

Obviously i could just put my monitor into 1080 mode for recording, but i'd like to make use of the rest of the screen while recording for looking at notes and other stuff. And it doesn't feel comfortable as i'm not used to seeing everything so big!
