Can't Switch Web Cams

I love OBS (it's very easy to use and quite powerful) but I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm on Google looking for an OBS alternative.

Why?

I can't switch web cams. Well, I can, but it's a royal pain.

As an example, I just went to Zoom (which we use for our virtual meetings thanks to Covid) and I went to start video and there are 3 web cams listed. I was able to alternate between them at the click of my mouse. No lag, no waiting, instant switching.

With OBS, whatever web cam is active when I first open it, to switch to another web cam I have to open and close OBS sometimes as many as 5 or 6 times before the other web cam comes on. This just started. It used to be instantaneous just like Zoom. But for whatever reason, now it takes many many tries and at times, quite a few minutes.

The reason I need to switch between web cams is I use one for streaming and I use another for recording videos in another part of the house. This way, I don't have to go moving my web cams around. I just alternate between the two. The third web cam I actually use for the audio because web cam one's audio is terrible.

I have already read through all the tips and yes, I have my two main web cams on two different USB ports. Doesn't matter. Still doesn't work.

I'm kind of at my wits end with this.

My two web cams are a Logitech Brio (I use for the videos) and a cheap Logitech knockoff that I use for streaming and zoom meetings.

Please help because I don't want to stop using OBS but I may not have a choice unless i just live with this.

Thanks for any assistance you can give me.

I use 2 log c920's and two Microsoft life cams and have no problems..
Take a look at this...This is what I did to get them all to work...

Okay, I read and I watched the video and I still have no idea what it is I'm supposed to do? Why should I start messing around with drivers when these web cams work everywhere else? Shouldn't they just work? Or is OBS that picky about stuff like this? Zoom isn't. The web cam test sites aren't. Nothing else I use these web cams with gives me this problem of taking forever to switch web cams. And the last thing I want is to monkey around with this and end up breaking it on everything else. I'd rather just go find some other software to use.

Okay, just for the heck of it, I went through the process. Best drivers are already installed on the 2 web cams and the 3rd web cam isn't even listed.

So now what?

Okay, I found the 3rd web cam through devices and printers and went to update the driver but it's grayed out. You can't update the driver for this web cam for whatever reason.

So again, what's next?

FWIW, I just pulled up Microsoft Camera, the crappy program that comes with Windows that I didn't even know I had until just now and all 3 web cams are recognized within seconds of switching with no problems whatsoever.

So I gotta wonder, what is wrong with OBS that it can't do a simple thing like that?
