Question / Help Can't source two instances of the same game.

Specifically, I am trying to use OBS to capture Eve Online- a game where a lot of older players use more than one account. So I want to have two sources basically, the game windows are named "Eve - Character1" and "Eve - Character2".

When I select the game source, it lets me pick from the "Eve - Character1" window or "Eve - Character2" window. However, the actual program seems to only be drawing on whichever window was most recently active. For example, I can have "Eve - Character1" selected, but then minimize that game instance and open the other game instance and refresh the source in OBS and it will then show the video from the "Eve - Character2" game instance.

I have tried a few ways to work around, but can't seem to find anything that works. Any ideas?

If I'm not mistaken, you could do it if you had 2 monitors, with each character displaying on a different monitor

This would be a potential solution, but it won't work for me as I need to not have both games maximized at all times. I cannot dedicate two monitors.

well that certainly is a troublesome situation. not entirely sure how to approach that problem to be honest. perhaps a hotkey to start capturing the active window? (for both game capture and window capture)

If you can run EVE in windowed mode (pretty sure you can, but it's been a while) you can just use Window Capture with Aero enabled and have both up at the same time.
