Can't set up the microphone via OBS audio mixer

I have a separate USB microphone and the sound is fine through OBS. My sound is recorded and transmitted.
No problems here!

The strange thing, however, is that I cannot control the microphone through OBS settings (the same goes for the camera microphone).
The level meter responds to the microphone, yes. But I can not set anything. So also no filters set, unfortunately.
Everything I enter in settings has no effect on the sound. Neither does the mute...

Sound that I play in the background through OBS I can control through the audio mixer of OBS.

Does anyone have an idea how I can set this up so that I can link my microphone?
Thanks in advance!

I guess it's not a common problem?
If someone doesn't know a direct solution, maybe an idea I can try?
I'd love to hear it!

I'm suspecting you have an (unexpected) audio routing issue. And/or an OS level audio driver/mgmt software (liek Realtek) configured in a conflicting manner to your expectations

You have not followed forum guideline on a support request - Per pinned post in this forum so that limits what I or anyone else can guess about your setup

As a quick test, I'd remove that OBS Global Mic/Aux, and add a new Audio Input Source that is just your mic.

Thank you for your response. Yes indeed, a routing issue it will be.
Apologies for missing the info about sending along a log file.
I am going to fix it!

First I will check out the tips provided, thanks!

Okay, I think I understand.
Is it possible that I am sending the sound via VB-CABLE to voicemeter?
And thus bypass OBS.
I am using OBS to make video calls via JitsiMeet.

I will connect my MIC soon and also send a log file with it.
Maybe then I can use OBS for the MIC as well.

OK. I have added an extra VB cable and converted loops.
I can now neatly control everything via viocemeter! And thats OK.
