Hi,
I have been using OBS for over a year now with no issues whatsoever streaming, and for recording.
The other day i went to record a video and i got the error that it "failed to start recording" and to check if my video drivers are up to date.
I have tried everything, drivers are up to date, tried reinstalling obs, and AMD software, nothing works for me
I am running a Win 7 Laptop, with AMD a6-7130 with AMD Radeon R4 graphics
Log file attatched!
Really hope someone can help coz im at a dead end here
Thanks

1. Upgrade to Windows 10. It's free and supported by OBS.
2. Your audio device has a sample rate that doesn't match the OBS sample rate. This can result in audio drift over time or sound distortion. Check your audio devices in Windows settings (both Playback and Recording) and ensure the Default Format (under Advanced) is consistent. 48000 Hz is recommended.
OBS Sample Rate: 48000 Hz
Headphones (2- High Definition Audio Device): 44100 Hz
3. Run OBS as Admin. Right click on the shortcut, properties, advanced, check box, ok, apply, ok.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I have thought about upgrading, but i prefer windows 7 for now, dont see how this has caused my issue tho as all was fine till the other day.
Dont worry about the audio device that was just my headphones, when i record or stream with obs im using a soundcard with my dj controller so its not that.
And i have tried as admin too, also as a new user and that didnt work either
Thanks

Windows 7 is not supported by OBS, at all. If you're having any issues using an un-supported operating system, the first step is to update to a supported operating system.
The instructions for running OBS as Admin (which is different from running OBS while logged in as Admin or with an Admin account) are for Windows 10.

Hi,
I understand that about windows 10 and using it as Admin, but if it is unsupported then how come it was fine for over a year until the other day? There hasnt been an update that i know of that has caused it so there must be another reason as to why it has stopped working. I assumed the problem may have been with the AMD video drivers but i have tried all possible solutions to that with no avail.
