Maybe .exe is not the process that handle rendering of the game? Check Capture any fullscreen application in 'Game Capture' and try again (Fit to Screen still required). Have no other ideas.

you could attempt to run OBS as admin by right clicking. I would then suggest to remake the game capture with the game up on the primary screen. While it is up, change the settings until it shows. I am also assuming that your right monitor is the primary?

Yes my right monitor is primary and still no luck. Is it worth updating to the newest version of Obs, also which bit (32,64) should I use? I'm running 64 since that's my system spec

i have the same exact issue described here. i've tried everything suggested in just about every thread i found: run obs as administrator, reinstall obs, check anti-cheat hook, mulit display compatibility mode, deleting win-capture in AppData, everything. this issue seems to only affect SOME games tho, game capture works just fine with Grim Dawn, but i USED to use it for Dirt Rally as well, but that has stopped working about a week ago. here is a link to my logfile: http://pastebin.com/Z91UrSty

you can see grim dawn working ok, but it has serious problems trying to grab dirt rally. fyi: the game used to work recently, and the game hasnt had any updates in over a month due to a big patch coming in april.

well, i managed to fix my issue. what i discovered, is setting to "run as administrator" doesnt always work unless you navigate to exe itself and enable it there. previously, i right clicked my desktop shortcut for obs studio, and changed the compatibility for all users to run as administrator. this didnt help. but when i navigated directly to the obs32.exe and enabled run as administrator there, BINGO! game capture has started working again for Dirt Rally.

so please pass this along, you need to Run As Administrator DIRECTLY from the exe in the install folder, not from a shortcut or anywhere else

Same thing to me is happening since about 2 months or so (cant remember quite well) with obs-studio 32bits and 64bits version, the games that i try to record (dungeon defenders 2, payday 2) end up being a black screen with audio, so i tried the obs classic and i works but the overlay and options are outdated (dont mean to be picky, but seriously i can't even select the directory of the files on it, maybe im blind and missed it) so i really would like to get obs-studio to work because it used to work before with my 32bits laptop and now that i have a 64bits laptop this problem started happening. (I have tried all of the above solutions but still does not record the screen, but records the audio). thanks for reading through all that and i kindly appreciate your attention. have a good day.
