Question / Help Can't hear audio

Hi I am new here, sorry if this is in the wrong place.

So I have had OBS for quite some time on my laptop and it worked perfectly. I recently bought a new computer, and installed OBS on it. I then changed the .flv to .mp4 in the settings. (I only did this because Movie Maker cannot read the .flv file.) Afterwards, I couldn't hear any audio. Nothing. No microphone, game sound, nothing at all. I tried almost everything, switching preferences, tinkering with the settings, nothing seems to work.

Any ideas? I need to make a video by Monday and I can't do anything without audio.

Any help is greatly appreciated. :)

Make sure to state what you did to fix your problem when you encounter a problem and you manage to fix it yourself so you can help others out if they have similar issues. People like to search the forums to try to figure out solutions and having that information out there can be helpful to them.

Most likely I'm guessing you were just lacking codecs.

Well I just turned the audio from MP3 to AAC since MP4 doesn't work well with MP3.
