Question / Help Can't Edit Local Recording

Hello,

I'm new to the whole Forum scene however felt it was necessary since I couldn't find a solution anywhere to the issue I was having. When I "Stream to File" and create a .mp4 of my broadcast the video plays just fine on Windows Media Player as well as Quick Time when I transfer it to my MacBookPro however for some reason when I try to import it into Final Cut Pro X the video comes up black and will not function with the program.

On past threads I've seen suggestions on checking "Use CFR" which was already checked before the broadcast so we can rule that out.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to fix this, my only solution was trying to upload the video to YouTube (which worked) and then downloading the video back again as a .mp4. Only problem was now you lost what quality you had before...

Someone please help!

I've tried taking the original file from OBS and using Compressor to see if I could fix any codec issues before importing to FCPX. The only outcome I had was when converting it to "Apple ProRes 422 (HQ)" as well as "HD 1080p Video Sharing" but my best result was a solid white image with only audio (bright side is that it did import correctly to FCPX).

I've always used .mp4 for FCPX and don't have access to Premiere. I think it's weird that it would let me upload to YouTube then download back again as a .mp4 and import just fine...but now the quality is 480p :/
