Can't Create New Scene

I want to create a scene. I click on the large "plus" sign in the lower left corner. A menu appears and I select "Scene". A small window opens offering to "create new" or "add existing". "Add existing" is selected and it won't let me select "create new". When I click "OK", nothing happens.

What's up?

You are talking about special "Scene" source. It is normal. It is designed to add already existing scene (whole scene) as a source (single rectangle in OBS preview).

What you need - is Scenes pane (usually it lies left to the Sources pane). If you don't see the Scenes pane (was hidden), reset both UI and Docks from View menu and Docks menu of the program.

i'm new to OBS and I am trying to record my games, but it says they are "null" i tried other methods but none worked
