Question / Help Canon XL2 wont connect?

Hi I am new to this I am currently trying to connect my Canon XL2 to OBS Studio. My computer recognises that The camera is there and OBS now offers the option to select "Microsoft DV Camera and VCR" yet I am not seeing any video feed. I have the Canon set to Exterior Connection.

When I switch the Video Capture to the onboard webcam the video feed shows up fine.

Can somebody tell me if I am doing something wrong?

OBS doesn't support DV camcorders connected in that manner. You need to use a capture card.
