Question / Help Cannot run versions newer than v18

I did a reinstall of my system and decided to update OBS while I was at it.
I installed 21 and it would not run giving an error "your gpu may not be supported".
I was able to run the classic version so I started downloading previous versions to 21.
The last version I am able to run is 18.03 versions 19 and up will not run on my computer.

The difference appears to be the auto configuration that was added at 19.

I suggest you have a fall back to the pre auto configuration when OBS has a gpu error.

Having experienced the idiosy of "the latest and greatest" pt out by technologists over the past decade; I expect that my simple and workable suggested solution will be rejected without consideration by the moron or morons who, being so full of themselves, are unable to acknowledge or accept the fact that there are people who cannot afford to purchase new computer equipment every four years. I am beyond tired of being told by these arrogant narcissists, that the new version of the software they put out; is better than the last version, only to find out upon installation and attempted use that they, as in OBS 19, 20 and 21, do not work.

If you can run OBS Classic, you should be able to run the latest versions of OBS Studio. Newer versions of OBS Studio have not added anything that would restrict old GPUs. The issue you are having has nothing to do with the addition of the auto-config.

It looks like the logs you posted are incomplete. Can you please upload full versions of logs from OBS Studio v21?

If I had to guess without seeing anything, it would be that you may not have installed your GPU drivers correctly after reinstalling your system.
