Heyo!

I can't seem to start my stream after I changed my scaling from 720p to 1080p. I get a message asking me to upgrade my graphics drivers, but that did not do the trick.

Here's my start up log on OBS Studio:

My PC Specs:

i7 8700k
16gb ram 3200mhz
980Ti

I hope someone out there can help. Wanted to up my stream to 1080p for extra quality, but found out that isnt possible at all. As mentioned, everything works just fine under 720p. Seems to be fine under a x264 encoder too.

Best regards,
René

That's what Twitch recommends so figured that'd what I'd want.

Changing it to auto fixed the issue though, thank you very much!

Whats usually the best option to go with though, nvenc or x264? I read some people mentioning x264 will still be the best option.

nvenc on a Pascal-based chip (GTX 10x0) is about the same quality as x264 on "veryfast" preset. If you have the CPU power to encode with x264 at a better preset that "veryfast", you will get better quality than nvenc. But often it is better to give the game full CPU power and let nvenc do the encoding, because if the game suffers from CPU starvation, its fps goes down and frames can get skipped although you don't see this in the obs log, resulting in a worse video with x264 than with nvenc.
How it works out for you best, depends on your non-obs requirements: the game, other apps in background, etc.
