When attempting to start my stream or preview it I get this error:
http://gyazo.com/0c37e09551f15fc8f60e48735d5acb2f
Errors such as this also happen when I attempt to record videos. e.g. when using Dxtory it won't start recording until I stop it recording the audio from my headset. Same with Fraps.
Headset: Corsair Raptor HS40

You could route your sound through your Onboard Soundcard or a Virtual Audio Cable / VB-Cable to capture it in OBS and then forward this sound to your headset. Seeing that you have problems with the Headset in different programs, this is probably the only way to use it for recording.

That sounds like it should work, thanks for the help! However, how would I go about doing this?

You first check if your onboard soundcard has a stereomix (you might have to connect an old headset or speakers to the green connector on the back of your pc so the stereomix also receives a signal). Then just configure this speaker as your default windows device. Now you go into the settings of the stereomix, thats under recording in the sound settings of windows, and there you activate the listen to checkbox and in the dropdown select your Raptor HS40.
In OBS (and other tools) just make sure that default or your onboard soundcard is selected.
It is essentially this setup: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/exclude-audio-sources-off-your-stream-or-recording.8/
but you do not exclude anything, unless you want to :)

That worked. However, I now have the problem that I cannot record my audio whilst recording my mic. It simply only records one of them. Any ideas?

hmm, you select your microphone as auxillary in OBS and the Onboard Soundcard as desktop input. Thats kinda all you need to record both. Not totally sure where your error might lie. Maybe show us another log file and explain roughly what you did.
