Question / Help Cannot import OBS recorded videos to Camtasia

Hello.

So this has been bothering me for ages now, I cannot import videos that I recorded in OBS to Camtasia. Well, I can, but here's the thing, it'll come up with some error that the video hasn't rendered properly, yet I can play it in my Windows Media Player fine. It'll only play audio in Camtasia, and not the actual video. These are .mp4s by the way.

Funny thing is that I can download mp4 videos from YouTube and import them into Camtasia and they work just fine, but if I import my videos it doesn't work at all. I have tried using a different software called Shadowplay and the videos I record with Shadowplay import into Camtasia just fine, so it's definitely something up with OBS. The only solution I have found to make OBS videos work in Camtasia is using Handbrake, but I shouldn't have to use another program just to get a bloody video file to work in Camtasia. I tried using 'FFmpeg' but that doesn't work at all. I have been googling for a while now and there are no solutions so my last resort is to try and ask for some help here.

Oh, and I have tried turning the video output from .mp4 to .mov or .flv and none of those work. If it helps, I have Windows 10 64 bit.

No idea what any of this means to be honest.

At this time I had CFR off, but with it on I assume it'll be the same results, since it still doesn't work with it on.

Your log indicated otherwise. Did you try it again?

Searching these forums found this:

https://obsproject.com/forum/thread...s-when-placing-mp4-in-camtasia-studio-8.19709

Be careful, the last poster's youtube video is NSFW and I have yet to watch it. But you should try what Jim posted in that thread.
No, I meant I just set it to 44100Hz and it still doesn't work. I tried using FFmpeg and it's really, really confusing. I'm not sure if it just doesn't work or I'm doing something wrong, but I followed the instructions someone else posted online.

Sounds like you haven't entered the correct filename for the input file. Probably need to put the complete path, like for example C:\saves\test.flv instead of just test.flv .
