Cannot hear audio while recording

I am using a VHS video capture device to transfer old VHS recordings to PC hard disk. During the "recording" process I can see the video content on screen, but I cannot hear the audio track. Played around with the audio settings quite a bit but cannot find a resolution. When viewing the recorded video using VLC, it's all good, the audio is there.

At the Audio Mixer, click the cog wheel icon and select Advanced Audio Properties. For your capture device, set Audio Monitoring = Monitor and Output (Monitor refers to what you as an OBS Studio operator hear yourself, Output is to the streaming/recording).
