Question / Help Cannot Capture AverMedia Extreme U3

Hello,

I recently purchased an AverMedia Extreme U3 (CV710). I'm trying to set it up to capture from my PS3 off an HDMI splitter. I can successfully get the capture card software to render a video feed and record, and get the other end of the splitter to appropriately render on my TV. However, whenever I try and capture the feed within OBS it does not work.

If I try and capture the feed using a Windows Capture Source, I get an entirely black screen. The attached log '2016-01-22-2034-52.log' is this issue.

If I try and capture the feed using a Video Capture Device Source, I get nothing at all. The attached log '2016-01-22-2034-52.log' is this issue.

If anyone has any assistance they can provide I would greatly appreciate it.

Make sure only 1 program is using capture card. Close down capture card software when using OBS.

Use OBS's capture card's crossbar settings to change inputs.

Maybe disable multiple GPU rendering? (nvidia SLI / AMD crossfire)

Base and output resolution of 2560x1440 at 60 fps might be too much for x264 encoder. 1920x1080 or less is a better option when using just a capture card. Many PS3 games are limited to output at 720p or less.
