Question / Help Can you use a Mac DAW like Studio One or Pro Tools instead of Soundflower?

This is a straightforward question. I am going to be using mic preamps and run the signal through compressors and am using either Garage Band, Studio One or other digital audio workstation to do so. Does OBS take this as an audio source? Or should I just try to run audio into the camera?

OBS understands stereo and surround, not arbitrary multichannel audio, and doesn't do its own routing. So either run to the camera, or use something like LoopBack to get output from the DAW to OBS.
