Question / Help Can you stream 720p30 with 1.2 Mbit?

I have 1.2 mbit upload speed and the best I have managed to stream without lag is 480p30. I am wondering if you can load your CPU harder by compressing the video more and by this lowering the amount of bandwidth required. Is it possible to compress the video so much that I can stream with 720p30 or even 720p60 which would be a dream.

Nope. 720@30 starts around 1500kbps constant (so 2-3mbps peak). 720@60 starts around 2500kbps constant, so 5+ mbps peak.

I recommend using at least 2.2 Mbit when streaming 720p. I have tested it and even with 1.8 Mbs it looks still horrible. So no, I don't recommend that.
