Question / Help Can x264 cpu preset damage my cpu?

if i set it slow/slower can it damage my cpu? like overheating or damaging it?

24mbps DOWN / 2 Mbps UP

my setup is

i5 4440 3.1ghz
8gb ram 1600 mhz
GTX 650 2gb 128bit
5900 RPM 500 GB HDD
400 watt PSU
5x cooler fan in pc case

1366x768 samsung monitor

Depending on the Game your CPU cant handle anything anyway you might get away with faster when playing LoL or maybe fast with some Browser Games or really light weight Games, but thats about it.

In general nothing other than Heat can really damage your CPU tho a lower Preset means more CPU Usage which leads to more Thermal output. But as long as you stay below 80-90°C there shouldnt be any Issue at all, except if you are running 100% Usage for like 5 Years straight.

Don't forget Im talking about "normal" usage obviously electricity or short circuit etc. will damage your CPU just to clarify things :P
