I am looking to use OBS for recording only no streaming, I would like to deploy a few of these for my team but I cant get passed this video problem. I have an AJA U-TAP SDI to USB 3.0 interface that I am able to send my camera and audio through and see and view on OBS. Everything sets up as normal but during the test recordings I have done I have consistently seen that the video/audio will freeze with recording still going. Nothing in OBS seems to crash and the way to fix it has been to change the camera source to internal camera and then back to the AJA U-TAP and everything comes back to normal...
I dont see the issue of dropped camera show up in the logs and I'm not sure where else to look to solve this problem. I know the simple answer may be to get a better laptop or a new graphics card but my machines CPU usage stays below 10% during all my test records. It seems this could be an AJA issue or what not. Any thoughts on where to go from here.
My hope would be to run this on a Lenovo T450
It does not have an after market graphics card but does have Display Adapters:
Citrix Inderct Display Adapter
Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
My Recording output settings are:
Format - Mp4
Encoder- Quicksynk H.264
Target Usage - Balanced
Keyframe Interval - 3
Async Depth 4
Rate Control - CBR
Bitrate - 2500
B Frames - 3
I have also tried this on a Z440 with a Nvidia NVS 310 Card but OBS doesnt see it as an encoder and only gives me x264 where the problem still occurs.
