Question / Help Can OBS record just the game sound without registering the speakers?

Friend and I want to record some duo-let's plays. We are using OBS and Audacity for recording the video and sound on our seperate computers, and play in seperate rooms to increase audio quality for editing.

Unfortunately the only way we seem to be able to hear the game AND each other while keeping the audio tracks of each of us individually and the game is for us to set our headsets as the main Communication Device (so we only hear team-speak via the headset), and for gameplay to be via the speaker.

Problem then is the headset mikes do pick up some of the gameplay, which makes the audio a bit messy when it comes to editing. Ideally we'd like to be able to hear each other AND the game via our headsets, but for OBS to only record the game noise.

Does anyone know how to set OBS to record only sound coming from the game itself, and not record the sound going to the headsets in total (i.e.: game + team speak?).

I don't understand what you two are trying to do.

Are you trying to:
hear game + teamspeak in headset
record ONLY game as you are using TS3 recording normally for your voices
?

If so, then virtual audio cable should do it... there will be a slight audio lag with the teamspeak (~50ms last time I checked) but since you already have ping-based lag it should not be an issue. Good luck!
