Can my laptop handle recording or streaming on OBS?

SPECS
  • CPU - Intel Core i3-3120m - 2.50GHz
  • RAM - 4GB
  • GPU - Intel HD Graphics 4000
I've been using this laptop for most of my life, I don't have the finances to get anything new unless it's like $5, and I was always told my laptop can't handle recording or streaming. I used OBS for a little bit but the settings are very confusing for me and no matter what I try, it always lags and makes my laptop run very slow.
I came here to see if I have a chance to record some stuff, hoping that someone can answer my question and provide possible settings I can change to see if it runs better.

I tried doing what this post told me but I haven't had any success.

If I needed to list more info I don't know about, let me know!
