Hi guys

Just wondering if I can stream with this laptop

http://www.harveynorman.com.au/toshiba-satellite-s70t-b00e-laptop.html

Toshiba Satellite s70t b00e.

Basically has i7, 16GB ram, decent graphics gard, etc.

I will not play demanding games, will only play mostly: League of Legends, Counter Strike Global Offensive, and some other old games, and some emulator playing Playstation 2 games.

My only concern is when you click on that link it shows you the specs, and it says that the max ghz is 3.5, whereas on twitch recommended settings, 4560 is required. I am not tech savvy, but do these two numbers relate to each other? If so, then that is it, the end of my dream of streaming with this laptop? I hope not....

OR

Just get a desktop? Im not a hardcore hardcore gamer, so no need for a super gaming desktop, just a decent one. Like I said I will play mostly League and CS GO.

Thanks in advance all.

not sure what you read on twitch ... but usually its not recommended to stream on a notebook but in this case it shouldnt be a problem streaming 720p30 never expect too much yout cant really compare a notebook with a desktop pc.

for the price, if you already have keyboard, mouse and monitor you will get away way cheaper with a way better pc

Thanks alpin.

Yeah...its not ideal to stream with a laptop, but doable right?

Well, I am confused now. should I get a desktop then? There are SO MANY choices to choose form...ibuypower...cyberpowerpc....and more, and I feel helpless in those websites.

if possible build the pc on your own if not i guess ibuypower has really great offers and since you are planning on spending 1500 on an notebook you could get something really really powerful

dont forget that notebooks tend to have heat issues especially when they are used for encoding and such which is really cpu intensive if you need a notebook go ahead and buy it but if you cant decide between notebook and desktop i would chose the desktop just for the sake of better performance and usually less issues

I think im 85% leaning towards a desktop now.

Honestly, ibuypower seems good but I desperately need someone to assist and guide me how to use that website....I have no idea what to do on that website lol. Is it like you but a desktop, or do you customize your own?

i3/i5/i7 are the cpu lines intel has and then theres the different number in each line which determine the difference between those since there are a couple more i7s as example theres also an i7 4790 without the k the k means that you you got an free multiplier on the cpu which is needed for overclocking also the base clock and turbo on the k version in this case is higher.

quad core means the cpu has 4 physical cores and since its an desktopgrade i7 you also have hyperthreading which gives the cpu 8 logical cores (threads) this comes in really handy when you start encoding/streaming and doing different things at once like gaming+streaming.

hope i could explain it well enough since its kinda hard to explain it in another language :P

Basically i just need to know the 4790K and the 4.0 GHz, have no idea what they are.

I am currently customizing my desktop on cyberpowerpc, just having some fun. Damn, 70%+ of the stuff I have no idea....

alpin thanks for the help thus far, I gotta go sleep. Hope to talk again tomorrrow
