Question / Help Can I stream with my new laptop?

I ordered this laptop on sale for $550. I thought the deal on this laptop was amazing, and I also wanted a laptop capable of streaming at if possible 720p on diablo 3 or league of legends. (Low settings)
I already have a really good desktop pc I built just for streaming... But this purchase was just for when I travel and want to stream.
I was told by xsplit which I have a license for.. that my cpu on the laptop was under powered and I would lag on any game.
Now I have yet to receive this laptop yet... But I will get it in a couple of days. Here are the specs

i5 3230M(2.60GHz)
NVIDIA GeForce GT 635M 2GB
6gb DDR3 1600 memory
1600 x 900 resolution
Windows 8

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6834312431

When I stream on my normal desktop pc. I use less then 3% cpu with streaming and my game on 1080p.
But of course I have an i7-3820

I'm just hoping that with this laptop I will be able to stream at a decent resolution.

Ps. So you are not confused.. I do use obs and much enjoy it over xsplit I was just stating that they told me that I couldn't stream because of my under powered cpu.

It should be possible with game capture, just gotta watch out for any heating issues.

I thought so, Just needed some extra insight on the matter.
I know xsplit uses a lot more cpu, but I don't use that program anymore.

Thanks for the response!

Hello, I have the same notebook and thought I could ask you for your settings. I don´t really know how to set it well myself. Could you please post them ? Pretty please ? :D Thanks

actually streaming on this notebook is rather hard

its a hyperthreaded dualcore which means as a streaming only notebook it could do 720p30 but if you plan on gaming+streaming on this notebook then rip :(

the ones that want to stream at a good quality usually chose a minimum of an i7 mobile, a desktop i5, and more than likely a desktop i7 (or 4-8core xeon w/ hpyerthreading) would be the best. So you are at what would be the bare minimum and could get away with 720@30fps stream, which is the basic quality that you'll find everywhere.

Just dont expect to much with this
