Question / Help Can I disable desktop audio?

I know that I can mute the audio of my desktop but I don't want to do that. What's happening is that the stream is picking up the desktop audio and it ends up looping so I just want to stop the desktop audio from streaming. Is it possible to do that? Not really having much luck with the settings. Thanks!

Make sure you don't have your own stream running anywhere (like on your dashboard) or at least mute it. That way nothing will get looped.

Can't disable it right now, no. You can mute it however.

I didn't mean to rez this topic, however, searching for this issue, it is still in the top search results. I have a work around that works in windows 7. By muting in my volume mixer, I was able to prevent the loop issue to occur, as well as other desktop noises, such as an alert from my antivirus.

My setup is for use with an elgato game capture hd, so I had no need for desktop audio. I only wanted the audio from the elgato, and my microphone, but for some reason, it would still stream my desktop audio. Now, with OBS muted in the mixer I am able to watch my stream without the weird looping occurring.
